A few friends have reached out to ask, "Why didn't the Biden administration produce the files?"

This is a legitimate question but it misses the point.

Keep in mind, Epstein was investigated for years and then arrested and indicted in July 2019, under Trump’s presidency, not Biden’s. During that time, Trump’s team had every chance to go after Epstein’s network while they were in power. Instead, his allies delayed, distracted, or shut down investigations. Some records are sealed. Some key witnesses? Gone. Dead. Or lawyering up.

So if you're wondering why this hasn't blown up under Biden, ask yourself this: why didn’t Trump do anything when he had the power, the evidence, and the opportunity?

Because maybe the real question isn’t why Biden didn’t act, but why Trump didn’t.

Also keep in mind the one thing most people forget: the president doesn’t control the DOJ. At least, that’s how it’s supposed to work, until Trump and Pam Bondi rolled into town.

That’s by design. Biden couldn’t just snap his fingers and order prosecutors to go after someone. If he could, that would be political interference. And let’s not forget, Biden had some pretty urgent fires to put out. The DOJ was dealing with actual indictments of Trump himself, violent insurrectionists, fake electors, and threats to democracy. That doesn’t mean Epstein’s network and crimes were ignored by the DOJ, it just means the most immediate and dangerous threats to America took priority.

But again, Trump had full control of the House, Senate, and Oval Office during the first two years of his term. Why wasn’t he more vocal in demanding an investigation?

It’s a rhetorical question. I think we all know the answer.
